This journey is ideal for those hoping to investigate an extraordinary mix of normal excellence and old Tibetan culture. Mustang is in the northern part of Nepal and is frequently referred to as the "Last Forbidden Kingdom." The Mustang district is divided into two parts, Upper Mustang and Lower Mustang. Until 1992, Upper Mustang, also known as the Kingdom of Lo, was a restricted demilitarized area, preserving its ancient Tibetan culture and traditions. The locale is portrayed by its unmistakable Trans-Himalayan topography, dry scenes, shocking perspectives on the Himalayas, and solid Tibetan social impact. Horse stays in the rain shadow of the Himalayas, bringing about its desert-like landscape.

The trek offers a rare glimpse into the Thakalis, Gurungs, and Tibetan communities' traditional way of life. Mustang is well-known for its monasteries from the Middle Ages, ancient caves, and Lo Manthang, the walled city that served as the capital of the former Kingdom of Lo. The district is likewise known for the Tiji Celebration, a three-day custom practiced every year to pursue away devils and bring harmony and thriving, and the Yartung festival is celebrated by Mustang people in the month of August/September (on the full moon day) every year.
